Coated abrasive products are manufactured in the three basic components: mineral abrasive grain,  backing and adhesive bond.

MINERAL

Garnet is a medium hard abrasive with superior cutting qualities, primarily used for sanding wood, in the furniture and woodworking industry. Excellent for medium hard and soft woods such as pine, fir, maple and others.

Aluminum Oxide is the most commonly used abrasive. It is hard and durable, recommended for grinding and finishing ferrous metals, aluminum, hardwood and leather. A diversity of aluminum oxide are used in coated abrasives depending on end use.

Premium Aluminum Oxide, is a syntetic mineral obtained from fused aluminum oxide of high purity thermically treated at high temperatures to improve hardness and friability to ensure high performance and lower grinding costs. It is used for grinding high tensile strength metals and alloys.

Silicon Carbide is hard, sharp and surpassed only by diamond in cutting ability, used on wide range of non-ferrous metals such as brass and titanium, stainless steel and non-metallics (e.g., glass, rubber, plastic, fiber glass). It is used extensively for sanding primer, sealer and top coats of paint and clear finishes.

Zirconia Alumina is an ultra-though syntetic abrasive commonly used for heavy grinding aplications where cool cut is required. It is a sharper and more blocky grain than aluminum oxide. As it cuts, it self-sharpens. Use Zirconia Alumina when grinding hard, woods, metals and alloys.
